The Revelation of the Messiah in Noah's Prophecy (Position Paper No. 2)

THE REVELATION OF THE MESSIAH IN NOAH’S PROPHECY:GENESIS 9:25-27The period between the fall and the flood was a tumultuous time. God’s grace was extended to certain antediluvian persons such as Abel (Gen. 4:4; Heb. 11:4), Enoch (Gen. 5:22-23; Heb. 11:5), and Noah (Gen. 6:8-9). However, this period had a minimum of restraining and saving grace resulting in a progressive moral degeneration and culminating in the judgment of the flood. Geerhardus Vos contends that this minimum of grace had the…See More

Question from Mike

Hi there,I found your blog and read some of it and you seem like a pretty cool person who checks sources and takes their studies seriously. I was wondering if you could do an article on exclusive psalmody and/or house church (as being prescriptive instead of descriptive)Thank you-mike Mike, Dr. Dilday has replied to your request:A handful of years ago I preached a sermon series on the service of song in worship, using Biblical History as a rubric.  The sermon series was called "History of the…See More

Sharon, In the 4th century, the Arians insisted on using Scripture alone, but according to Athanasius, it wasn't "their appeal to Scripture alone, but their appeal to Scripture taken out of the context of the apostolic faith, that which…

Thanks for the comments, Sharon! More to come on Preterist-Realism, but there is a lot of groundwork to cover first. You point out the very reasons I have to establish these basic things first. If you remember me ever mentioning it, I began this…

NEW SISTER SITE- THEOLOGY EXPLAINED TV

Theology Explained TV

==========================
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS - IMPORTANT NOTICE

It is now August 21st and we are still here, but I don't know how long that will be. Please go to the new site and add it to your favorites before this Ning site goes away! Thanks!

Beginning on July 20, 2010, Ning Social Networks opted to go with pay-only hosting. Although they offer three plans beginning at $2.95 per month, in order to retain Theology Explained as it is now formated it would cost $49.95 per month. Personally, I do not feel this is a good value and thus will not be signing up with Ning to host Theology Explained.

But do NOT despair! I have purchased the web address theologyexplained.com and have completed transfer of the current content to the new site, hosted by Wordpress. Check it out and add it to your favorites for future visits. While you are there be sure to sign up for the Email Subscription so you will be notified of new posts. And please, tell your friends to visit and sign up for email notifications too.

PS: Ning will have a grace period ending on August 20, 2010 so this site will remain until then.

THE WESTMINSTER ASSEMBLY DISCUSSING REFORMED DOCTRINE (1643-1649)

There are various concepts within Reformed teaching that does not violate the principles of orthodox doctrine. Since views may vary we ask that members keep this in mind as you read and consider the posts, blogs, position papers, lectures and sermons. It is my hope that you will find this site helpful in your development of doctrine and an encouragement to your understanding in the theology of the Reformation.
